We make it happen together and we enjoy

The EN:Joy Riders

Everyone at Efficiency North takes part in the EN:Joy Riders - fun, physical activities and challenges we enjoy together to raise cash for charities that make a real difference.

The EN:Joy Riders is an initiative for all employees to get together to organise, take part in and support activities with family and friends that raise money for charities making a difference in communities served by Efficiency North's membership of social housing landlords.   Together we have raised £6,500 for 3 charities since our first challenge in 2019.

In 2022 a team of 3 runners completed the Sheffield 10k on Sunday 25th September, raising over £500 for South Yorkshire youth housing charity Roundabout.

Throughout the last week of September 2021, starting Monday 27th, the EN:Joy Riders - the EN team and family and friends - attempted a step challenge to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of Ashley Winks, our Humber Construction Hub apprentice who lost his battle with Burkitt Lymphoma, a rare form cancer, in January. We stepped up from our sofas for the SU4A challenge - combining all of our daily step counts to walk virtually the distance between all 45 of our current social housing landlord members up and down the country. equivalent to 812 miles, roughly 1.8M steps over the course of the 7 days.

Over 7 days, together we did 2,303,602 steps for Ashley =  1,151.8 miles - that is 28% over our 1.8million steps target.  Together we raised £1,025 for Teenage Cancer Trust.

In 2020 another group of EN:Joy Riders successfully completed their second sporting charity challenge, cycling 56 miles between Efficiency North's offices in Sheffield and Hull,  raising a staggering £3,106 in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, the charity chosen by Humber Construction Hub apprentice Ashley Winks who had a rare form of cancer.

In 2019 the first group of EN:Joy Riders trained together after office hours, going from desk to 10k in just over 6 weeks to smash the Jane Tomlinson Run For All Sheffield 10k on Sunday 22 September and their fundraising target for Help 4 Homeless Veterans
