The Social Mobility Fund

Funding Recipients

The Social Mobility Fund was a grant scheme run by EN:Able Communities to support projects that improved Social Mobility for thousands of people in Northern England. The projects supported operate in traditionally deprived areas and seek to help people achieve their full potential. Our funding focuses mainly on training and employment initiatives, but also supported other activities that benefit the community such as improving assets or facilitating access to public services.

The Social Mobility Fund 2020

Applications for the Social Mobility Fund’s first round of funding were open throughout January 2020. We received 50 applications from across Yorkshire and Humber, which were cut down to 7 projects in consultation with both the Joint Tenant Panel and the EN:Able Communities Board of Trustees.

The seven chosen organisations, listed below, were awarded grants of up to £10,000 to carry out work across the region. In light of COVID, many of the chosen projects had to be reimagined in order to be provided within social distancing guidelines - and they all did a fantastic job of adjusting in difficult circumstances!
