Latch Progresses – Latch [Leeds]

Practical skills training for homeless unemployed renovating accommodation to go on to live in.

Latch purchases empty and rundown houses and refurbishes them to create good quality homes.

Most of the refurbishment work is done by Latch staff and unemployed trainees. Some have construction experience already, while others learn new skills as they work on site.

When they’re fully modernised and furnished, the properties then provide supported housing for people who are homeless or in housing need and are ready to make positive changes in their lives. Our friendly and experienced support workers help people to settle into their new homes and get back on their feet.

The Social Mobility Fund will support practical skills training for homeless and unemployed people. Trainees will create CVs, improve skills and their confidence to help them do futher training or find employment .
