Our first session will consider the origins of ESG and its place in responsible business today. Focus will then shift to how ESG strategy shapes compliance in the supply chain and how modern slavery obligations can be actively managed.

Lee Parkinson will be joined by Steven Radcliffe of RSM who will cover:

  • The origins of ESG strategy i.e. financial compliance

  • The position of ESG strategy today in responsible business

  • Any observations about how it manifests itself in different sectors

  • When ESG goes wrong

  • Key factors in successful ESG strategies

and Alex Gosney of Nutral who will cover: 

  • The role that labour compliance plays in ESG

  • The complex structures that exist for labour supply on construction projects

  • How those complex structures might conspire to breach ESG strategies / Modern Slavery / Minimum Wage

  • Solutions to enforce labour compliance

Nutral are a Yorkshire based consulting SME specialising in responsible recruitment, resourcing and payroll compliance in the built environment sector. They work closely with many major contractors applying technology solutions to aid payroll compliance and transparency. Their work provides a unique insight to the complex structures of labour supply chains and how the many layers within them can lead to compliance issues that will directly conflict with ESG strategies. Their Chief Executive, Alex Gosney, will join the session to provide his insights to this complex and most important matter.
