Design, detailing and thermal efficiency

This session will focus on a number of themes relating to affordable housing design which were suggested by the group last year including:

  • Thermal Efficiency

  • Common weaknesses in thermal design details

  • Getting ventilation design right

  • Affordable Design

  • Achieving affordable design aesthetics

  • Maximisation of space standards

  • Standard archetypes and design efficiency

We will be joined at this session by Dale Martin of Triskele Energy Assessors and Richard Merrills of Watson Batty Architects who will share their thoughts on the foregoing themes and will attempt to answer any questions relating to their respective specialism.

Dale Martin

Dale has over 20 years experience working in the housing sector in a leading technical role with the NHBC and now leads the delivery of a wide range of energy compliance solutions for Triskele Energy Assessors

Richard Merrills

Working for over 25 years in architecture, Richard Merrills has extensive experience in the design and delivery of new build housing and leads the housing and regeneration team at Watson Batty Architect
