Working in partnership with Alan Wood & Partners, a thriving local Civil and Structural Engineering consultant, we are offering a brilliant opportunity to become a Civil & Structural Engineering Apprentice Technician.
The successful candidate will work with The Civil & Structural Engineering Team of Alan Wood & Partners in Sheffield and support the daily needs of projects within the team. Following a thorough induction, the successful candidate will embark on an exciting 3 year programme where they will be exposed to a variety of disciplines (including flood risk, drainage, highways, foundations and structures), and learn how to use a range of computer modelling and drawing products fluently, prepare calculations and become an integral part of the team.
EN:Able Futures and Alan Wood & Partners will support the successful candidate through their apprenticeship and professional development., where they will join an accredited Institute (e.g. Institution of Civil Engineers) as a student member, along with the wealth of experience that Alan Wood offer, will potentially culminate in becoming a Technician member of the Institute.
A Civil & Structural Engineering Apprentice Technician will gain experience and knowledge in:
* Producing CAD drawings
* Preparing simple calculations and reports
* Supporting the administration of projects
* Ensuring outputs meet the required standards
* Meeting agreed deadlines
* Maintaining drawing register
* Working as a member of a team
* Contributing to providing solutions to problems
* Working both in an office environment and onsite visits
A newly qualified Civil & Structural Engineer can expect a starting salary of around £25-35k, which rises much higher based on experience.
