Bright spark needed in Halifax

Do You Know Any Bright Sparks in Halifax?

EN:Able Futures is on the look-out for a fantastic candidate to join Jackson Civil Engineering’s team as a Civil Engineering Apprentice in Halifax! The hourly rate of pay will be £4.11 over a 37 hour week (with a £15 per week travel allowance). The successful applicant will be working on site with a Senior Engineer inspecting, advising and supporting building teams. This will be part of a 2-year apprenticeship, initially working towards a Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment qualification.

Tasks will include acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people, and operatives; checking plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations; and liaison with the local authority and the consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and general workforce involved in the project.

The successful apprentice will also build skills communicating with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), and will attend regular meetings to keep them informed of progress and day-to-day management of the site (including supervising and monitoring the labour force and the work of any subcontractors.)

Applicants should have a keen and enthusiastic manner and desire to work in the construction industry, with a good attention to detail to ensure accuracy. Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and good customer service skills are also key to this role.
