EN:Procure award £200m New Build Framework

EN:Procure appoint 25 contractors to their new New Build Housing Framework for the North West and East Midlands

EN:Procure has awarded contracts to 25 contractors over 4 lots on its new EN:Procure New Build Housing framework.

With an anticipated pipeline of £200m over its 4-year lifetime, the more efficient and flexible framework will offer a leading-edge supply chain for the construction of social housing for Efficiency North’s social housing landlord members. Efficiency North is growing social housing landlord membership across the whole of the North of England.

The lots for smaller housing developments of 10 homes and under provide opportunities for smaller and medium-sized local firms and has been flexibly structured to increase the number of opportunities available regardless of contractors’ size or location.  80% of those appointed are SMEs with approximately half of these being locally based who’ve won the chance to work on social housing construction projects in their own neighbourhoods.

The new framework is predominantly for social housing across the North, with lots for the North West, Yorkshire and Humber and the Midlands, but may extend to other public buildings such as schools and offices and other areas of the UK.

The new framework will build on the success of EN:Procure’s previous New Build frameworks, which, between 2016-2021, helped members procure and deliver almost 2,000 new homes for local communities with an overall contract value of £254m.

It will also be instrumental in continuing the success of Efficiency North’s strategy to support social mobility in the communities of member landlords by boosting local training and employment opportunities. Training delivery is written into the contract, with a minimum of 1 training opportunity to be provided by the contractor for every £1m works value. Training and employment opportunities will be targeted to maximize their positive impact in housing providers’ communities.

Emma Mottram, EN:Procure Head of Operations, commented; I’m very pleased that the framework has achieved such an excellent offer, with a diverse range of small and large contractors operating across Northern England.  It provides an intelligent procurement solution for new build schemes with maximum flexibility via the range of contract options and scheme development processes. We very much look forward to working with our landlord membership and the appointed contractors to develop schemes through the framework to help them meet demand for cross tenure new build housing throughout the North and Midlands.”
