Harvey Dobson Wins Advanced Apprentice of the Year at East Riding College Awards 2024

EN:Able Futures proudly celebrates Harvey Dobson, who has been awarded the Advanced Apprentice of the Year at the East Riding College Awards 2024.

Harvey, a Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprentice, has demonstrated remarkable skills and dedication in Engineering and Design. Shortly after joining host Alan Wood & Partners, Harvey began his BTEC in Civil Engineering, and he is now set to advance to Degree level in September.

Operating in the built environment sector, EN:Able Futures CIC is a government-registered Flexi-job Apprenticeship Agency. The organisation specialises in directly employing apprentices, handling all HR and qualification management, which allows businesses like Alan Wood & Partners to benefit from skilled apprentices without the administrative burden of running their own apprenticeship programs. This partnership approach has been particularly effective in meeting the high demand for technical skills in civil engineering and construction.

Harvey, the 20th apprentice to join Alan Wood & Partners through EN:Able Futures, has excelled since joining their Hull office right after completing his GCSEs. Despite his initial inexperience, Harvey quickly distinguished himself with his rapid grasp of engineering principles and proactive approach to learning. His aptitude for engineering and his initiative in mastering complex tasks, such as using advanced drainage design software and 3D AutoCAD, have been significant assets to the team.

Mike Coulman, Office Director at Alan Wood & Partners - “Harvey impressed the team with the rapid rate he understood and more importantly retained core engineering principles. His proactive approach to learning and willingness to mentor peers have made him a valued team member and a leader in the workplace.”

Harvey's journey from apprentice to a highly regarded team member at Alan Wood & Partners exemplifies the impact of EN:Able Futures' support model. With plans to pursue a Degree Apprenticeship and join the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers, Harvey's future in the industry looks bright, continuing his trajectory of excellence and professional growth.

Congratulations, Harvey, on this well-deserved recognition!
