EN:Able Futures' week started early with team meetings to plan our coverage at a number of events across the region,ensuring we were able to reach out to as many potential apprentices as possible. We were not disappointed - over 200 young people expressed an interest in construction, housing and the built environment throughout the week.
Monday’s event in Leeds made the headlines in the Yorkshire Post with queues out of the door at the First Direct Arena.
EN:Able Futures shared the stand with CEG at the Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair, promoting opportunities through the Forging Futures Partnership. With queues out of the door for the event, we were thrilled to receive 144 applications for technical, trade and craft opportunities.
Following several school visits on Tuesday across the region, giving careers advice and promoting apprenticeships as an option beyond school, the team attended the Skills Made Easy Event at Cutlers Hall, Sheffield. There was a wide range of interest and enquiries from young people for electrical, administration, technical, trade and craft careers.
The careers fairs concluded on Thursday evening with a trip to York. We had discussions with a number of young people about potential opportunities with EN:Able Futures, such as the York City Stadium development in alliance with Buckingham Group! The team spoke to a large number of budding apprentices and their parents, and it was a really successful day overall.
