WDH’s 20 New Homes for Affordable Rent / Shared Ownership is an All-Round Success

WDH’s Scheme to deliver 20 residential dwellings for affordable rent/shared ownership at Trigot Court South Elmsall has been successfully completed to time and budget and delivered to an extremely high standard of quality by Local SME contractor Termrim Construction Limited based in Huddersfield.

Established in 1976 and still a privately-owned, Termrim are an award-winning construction company that successfully deliver multimillion-pound projects in both the public and private sectors across the North of England and the Midlands

Termrim were awarded the contract following a price/quality mini-competition off Lot 3 of the New Build Framework (schemes over £2m in value in North West, Yorkshire and Humber region).

The project was commenced on site in April 2017 and completed on time to WDH’s satisfaction on 12 March 2018 with all properties handed over with zero defects.

KPI's

During the Trigot Court contract Termrim employed over 30 members of staff and trades on site and at their Head Offices in Huddersfield, with approximately 80% living within a 10-mile radius of the site. They also used a wide range of local suppliers and businesses, promoting strong economic regeneration through the construction process.

As part of the Framework’s Social Value requirements Termrim provided training opportunities for an apprentice Jordi Simpson (pictured below).

‘I’ve been working as an apprentice at Termrim Construction since November last year and since then I have already gained valuable work experience. I’ve been able to work alongside both the Site Manager and the Site Foreman and have been involved in all aspects of the job, including finishing, painting and plastering.
